Stachi makes it simple
Beginner guide: your first raised-bed plan
Five steps. No prior gardening. No spreadsheets. By the end you'll be standing in front of your first bed β and it'll work.
- 1
1. Choose the spot
A sunny location with 4-6 hours of direct sun. Not directly under a tree. Water access nearby saves carrying.
- 2
2. Decide the size
For beginners: 120 Γ 60 cm is plenty. Don't over-dimension β small bed fully planted = more success than big bed half-empty.
- 3
3. Fill with soil
Three layers: coarse wood at the bottom (30%), half-rotted material in the middle (30%), garden + compost soil on top (40%). The plant gets warmth from below and nutrients from above.

4. Pick your plants
Seven absolutely robust varieties: radish, cut-and-come-again lettuce, zucchini, chives, kohlrabi, chard, pole bean. These give you a success in year one.

5. Get going
In the Erntezeit planner you enter these 3 things once β Stachi builds the full annual plan with sowing, planting and harvest dates. Including companion planting and crop rotation.
